Last week I found this shelf at Ikea.. I played around with it and this is how I junked it up.. The pic is not that good. I could not get the right light..but ya get the idea.

New Shelf

First I threw a bunch of stuff in our candle basket..

pine cones,

greenery,

bells,

cinnamon sticks

and new springy green candles

but now I'm thinkin....

It's almost time to decorate for

Valentines..

now I'm going back to red, silvers, whites and no pine cones. The other day I got a new 10ft shelf at Ikea.. I love it.

I told the kids that I was looking for a shelf and I set my price limit..

$30.00 maybe $60.00 for a big one..

I found this 10 ft guy for the low price of $29.999999..

right on..

I snagged him up in a heartbeat.

G stopped for one minute so I could get a pic..

I tried to twitter during the process but he was like

"put that damn thing down and hold this" grrrrrr.

That was after I held up the stud finder to him..and it didn't beep...

I would have died if it did..

I think it hurt his feelings a bit.

Well I junked it up with a bunch of stuff I had around..

look how beautifus my new lantern looks.

but again..

it's almost Valentine's time..

One day it I went to pick it up and it was in 2 pieces..
Of course no one in the house knew what happened.
So G got out his fancy glue gun and fixed it for me...
bless his little puppy dog heart..
then I used craft paint on it and wawwwla...all better..

I have always wanted something like a mantle to decorate and now I have it..

Next week- Valentine decor.. {maybe}

My World Tuesday

This past June we had a thunderstorm which blew down our Bradford Pear trees. It hailed like crazy making the pool a sea of waves. As you can see the house still has tarps on it from the Hurricane wind storm from last Sept.

3 trees, all damaged. We are giving them til next summer to recover. I think we are going to loose 2 of the 3.

Another canopy over the swing set fort---gone. I don't how many times we have replaced it. I think this time the kids will have to go without a roof.

Angles

Okay so this isn't the most interesting photo but it brings back memories for me..

Why you ask.

Well I had been outside trying new settings with Baby

{Sony Alpha 300}The wind was blowing like crazy so I gave up

and headed for the front door

either that or I had to go to the bathroom really bad ...I can't remember.

However I was walking and I stepped on a thorn bush twig and as I jerked I hit the button and

I took this picture. I limped into the front door where I summoned my multi talented GG to help me with my latest injury. As I lay on the foyer floor he dug a thorn out of my foot and I reviewed my pics to find this one. Sorry no picture of the thorn. I was in pain...

So when Cathy at TCKK says I get the neatest angles I can't always take the credit.. Sure there are times I am standing under dirt bike jumps,

laying in the yard with the kids jumping off a wall over me,

standing on ladders and other things,

hanging out the car...and

sticking my camera in places it probably shouldn't be

but sometimes it's as simple as....

stepping on a very painful and let me say large thorn on your front walk.

So tell me ...how do you get your great pics. I need some new tips. Preferably ones that won't harm the photographer {ME} in the process.
